Used With or Without Hearing Aids
ALDs can complement your hearing aid by connecting you directly to a sound source — a TV, a phone, a public PA system — for clearer, more direct sound. In some cases, they can serve as a stand-alone solution.
CaptionCall Phones
CaptionCall is a no-cost captioned telephone service for individuals with hearing loss. Using a combination of voice recognition technology and live captioning, it displays real-time text captions on a screen as callers speak — so you can both hear and read what's being said. Available as a home phone device and mobile app, CaptionCall is funded through the federal IP Captioned Telephone Service (IP CTS) program under the Americans with Disabilities Act, provided at no cost to qualifying individuals.

Auracast™ is the next generation of assistive listening technology, built on Bluetooth. It enables a single transmitter to share high-quality audio wirelessly to an unlimited number of devices — including modern hearing aids — without pairing. Auracast™ is particularly valuable for people with hearing loss in challenging acoustic environments: it allows you to stream directly from a TV, PA system, or public venue audio source straight to your hearing aids. As venues adopt Auracast™, the technology will make public spaces more accessible for hearing aid users everywhere.
